Tesco Digestives

OK, first biscuit review – bicview? – is my current favourite. Tesco’s own brand Digestives. These come in an attractive red package, 500g. The best part of the deal is the deliciously low price, weighing in at around 49p. The composition is quite sweet with a pleasant texture, and although volume-wise the indivdual biscuits are smaller than the average digestive and a little slimmer, the overall value compensates.

Tesco Digestives. Every little helps. These go brilliantly wih tea. For review I have used a mid-sized mug with a lower inward curvature and the biscuit has a perfect dunking size – no need for those annoying times where you have to nibble at it to get it into the liquid. And on the subject of dunkage, these biccies are pretty tough when it comes to soggy-drop incidents, certainly an advantage over it’s Tesco Value range brethren.

Pros - Cheap, sweet and hold up well under stress.

Cons – Slightly more petite than others.

I’m going to award this a 4.5/5, a solid start for first review. How will others measure up? We can only wait and see.

Post No. 1

Hello, welcome to Biscuit Showdown, a blog that is newly born to this digital Web 2.0 world, dragging itself from the primordial soup of a battered up laptop with an indelible determination that is guaranteed to wane over time with astonishing speed.

A while ago I embarked on a rollercoaster adventure that took me through devastating highs and triumphant lows as I chronicled my complete lifetime count of Pop Tart intake until I reached 100 – and so far the count remains the same.

But now, on my last week of being a student, I’m looking for a new quest, and the answer, I found, lies at the bottom of a pack of biccies.

An old classic. Surely perection.I’m a tea-man. Like millions of tea drinkers around the world, but in particular the land of Albion, there is a dedicated food group that perfectly accompanies this grand beverage and comes with its own unique pasttime. I am, of course, reffering to biscuit dunking.

But hold on! There’s a wide variety of digestives to choose from, and that’s before we even get to the chocolate topped varieties. That’s a lot of keyboard-crumb fodder.  We need consumer input, informative reviews. That’s a service I would love to provide.

This isn’t a blog solely dedicated to biscuit shenanigans, mind. I’m going to be using this as a personal blog too, spouting barely cognitive opinions and honing my writing skills. (I spent three years at Uni studying English and Creative Writing, I get the feeling I should have done this a long time earlier.) Some things I might write about include TV, Movies, Gaming, Tech, funny stuff I find on the Internet… pretty much anything actually. This isn’t meant to be some big, competitive blog aiming for the skies of the blogosphere, I’m quite content if no one reads this at all. Also, I might also pop a few bits of art on here, since I’m a bit of an amateur illustrator.

I’m also very much looking forward to saying “after the break”. Hell yeah!

That’s all for an intro. Coming soon: Tesco Value Digestives. Real value, or own-brand rubbish? Find out soon!
